Tatkal - Last Minute Safari

Ranthambore National Park safari reservations start months before the safari season begins. However, Ranthambore is one of the world's most popular tiger sanctuaries, and it's common to find visitors making last-minute plans. So "Tatkal" is for them.

It is not recommended to arrange rides in the park at the last minute as the number of vehicles are booked months in advance and there are no vacancies. and started implementing the TATKAL system for booking safaris.

Due to these last-minute reservations, the Forest Service has added 20 more vehicles available. Maximum 6 people per jeep. The Tatkal system costs Rs 10,000/jeep more than the normal cost which can be spread among guests. It may be expensive, but this guarantees a game drive even at the last minute. The Tatkal system was implemented on October 1, 2017. It was a success and all proceeds were donated to a tiger sanctuary.
